David M. Brottman, M.D.
Dr. Brottman has been practicing in the Arlington Heights area since 1991. He was born in Chicago and grew up in Schaumburg, Illinois He attended college at The University of Illinois in Champaign where he received a B.S. in Honors Biology. He attended medical school at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood. He received his residency training at The Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. “Dr. B” was on faculty at The University of Chicago Wyler’s Children’s Hospital before coming out to Arlington Heights.
M. Medaline Santiago, M.D.
Dr. Santiago was born in the Philippines and has lived in Chicago, Illinois since eight months of age. She attended Northwestern University for both her undergraduate and medical degrees. Dr. Santiago completed her residency training at the Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital at Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois. She has been practicing pediatrics in the Chicago area since 2001.
Jackie Schwarz, D.O.
Dr. Jackie was born and raised in Indianapolis. She attended Indiana University for her undergraduate degree and Indiana University – Purdue University for her master’s degree. Her medical degree was received from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Schwarz completed her residency training at the Advocate Children’s Hospital at Lutheran General in 2013.
Tiffany Scott M.D.
Dr. Scott was born and raised in Michigan. She attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate degree and received her medical degree from the University of Michigan. She completed her residency training at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Dr. Scott has been working as a pediatrician in the North Carolina area since 2011. Dr. Scott is married and has two children.
Nikita Patel M.D.
Dr. Nikita, a Chicago native, attended Marquette University in Wisconsin for her undergraduate degree and received her medical degree from the University of Illinois. Dr. Patel completed her residency training at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University in 2015.
Jordan Kalcheim M.D.
Dr. Kalcheim was born and raised in Lake Forest, IL. He attended college at Indiana University where he received a B.S. in Biology. He attended medical school at Finch University Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School. Dr. Kalcheim completed his residency training at Hope Children’s Hospital/Advocate Christ Medical Center in 2006 and has been practicing pediatrics in the southwest suburbs for the last 10 years. He is married and has two sons and one daughter.
Patricia Tomlinson, RN, IBCLC
Pat is a registered nurse and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant with over 35 years of experience working with moms and babies. Prior to starting her Lactation career she was a Special Care Nursery nurse working with many different newborn situations.
Heather Dvorak, IBCLC
Heather is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with a BA in Applied Psychology. She has twin daughters and a toddler son and has worked in Early Intervention for the past 10 years. She became an accredited Breastfeeding USA counselor to help other mothers with breastfeeding after overcoming many hurdles to breastfeed her twins. She is particularly passionate about supporting families with multiple
Kelly Sijapati, IBCLC
Kelly is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Her interest in women’s health and counseling led her to earn her BA in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After having her two children, she became interested in and passionate about breastfeeding and its effect on both maternal and child health.
She worked as a volunteer breastfeeding peer counselor for five years and attained her IBCLC certification in 2015. She loves supporting families to meet their individual breastfeeding goals. Having lived abroad, she has a special interest in helping families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Kelly is married and has two children who were both breastfed into their toddler years. She enjoys reading, music, and traveling. Kelly serves as the Secretary of the Chicago Area Breastfeeding Coalition.
Nicki Ward, RN, IBCLC
Nicki Ward is a bachelor’s prepared nurse with over 30 years of experience caring for mothers and babies. She was certified as an IBCLC Lactation Consultant in 1989 while working as a Lactation Consultant at Prentice Women’s Hospital in Chicago.
In that role she taught mothers, babies, fathers, nurses, medical students and doctors about breastfeeding and lactation. Her focus later shifted specifically to support for mothers of NICU babies.
She has spoken locally and nationally on a variety of lactation related topics from: effective phone triage, to common breastfeeding problems, to specifics od premature breastfeeding, to nurse and lactation consultant burnout.
Most recently she was a Lactation Consultant at Northwest Community Hospital until she retired in 2013.
Sarah Wille, RN, IBCLC
Sarah has been with Arlington Pediatrics for 3 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University and came straight to start her career at APL. Sarah is now an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She loves working with moms and babies of all ages.
Kimberly Cain, RN, IBCLC
Kimberly Cain is a Bachelors prepared Registered Nurse (BSN, RN), and in 2007, she obtained certification to become an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). For the last 22 years, she has worked with families as a nurse in labor and delivery, post partum, and in the neonatal intensive unit.
She has taught Lamaze, developed programs to assist physician offices to become more breastfeeding friendly and has worked with the Kane County Breastfeeding Coalition. Most recently she has been providing lactation consulting to both inpatient and outpatients through Northwestern Medicine.s, premature babies, children with special needs, and children with food allergies. Heather has had the opportunity to provide breastfeeding support in the post-partum unit, in a Level 3 NICU, and in an outpatient setting. She loves assisting families to reach their breastfeeding goals and has additional interests in nutrition, natural healthy living and natural birth.
