Do you offer same-day sick appointments?
Yes we do. We will have a staff member available to make “same day sick” appointments for your “sick child” beginning at 7:30 am.
Please understand if you call before 8:30 am regarding anything other than just needing to make a “same day sick” appointment, we will have to take a message and call you back. This process will make scheduling more efficient and better accommodate your needs.
Why do I need to speak to a nurse prior to making a sick appointment?
In order to effectively triage our patients, we ask that parents who are requesting a same day appointment for their child speak to a nurse. The nurse can then both assess how immediate the need is for an appointment and can provide comfort and treatment measures for the child until they are seen in the office.
INCOMING PATIENTS TO THE PRACTICE
We require that all of our patients comply with the AAP Vaccine Schedule.
Before scheduling appointments for our new patients, Arlington Pediatrics requires full medical records from your child’s previous provider. This step is important so that our physicians can review your child’s health history and provide the highest level of medical care.
Arlington Pediatrics requires that all new patients provide our billing team with verified active insurance before their first appointment, with the exception of newborn patients who may be waiting for active insurance.
BREAST PUMP RENTAL
Do you offer breast pump rentals?
Yes. We offer the convenience of renting hospital grade breast pumps to mothers. The Medela Symphony is the model that is available.
For more information contact our office at (847) 398-0400.

How can I contact the physician after hours in case of an emergency?
Call our office number at (847) 398-0400. Our answering service will pick up and page our “on-call” physician. If you do not hear back in 30 minutes, please call our answering service again and have the physician re-paged.
Can I send medical questions or pictures to the physician through email or the patient portal?
Please do not send any photos or medically relevant questions through the portal or email without consulting a physician or triage nurse. Please call the office directly at 847-398-0400 with any medical questions or concerns.
When my child is ill, will the physician call in a prescription?
Our physicians will not prescribe medications without seeing your child for their most recent illness.
Do you offer telehealth visits if we are traveling?
Please note the physicians of Arlington Pediatrics are not able to provide telehealth services or prescribe new medications to patients who are traveling out of the state or country.
OFFICE
Do you have a separate sick and well reception area?
Yes, as to minimize the spread of germs while you are in our office, we have a separate sick and well reception area.
Why does the front desk ask for my insurance card every time I come in?
The simple answer is to eliminate hassles and to save you money. Most insurance plans require that we see your insurance card at the time of each visit. Omission of this step may even jeopardize our contract with an individual insurance company. Some plans even go as far as to state that we should not render “routine care” if you can not show us a current, up-to-date card.
If you’d like more information about this policy, please contact our office at (847) 398-0400.
What payment options does APL accept?
We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
